How we’re funded

The National Rural Crime Network is funded by 28 Police and Crime Commissioners and their member Police Forces, contributing an initial sum of £2,000 each together with £1,000 sponsorship from the insurer NFU Mutual.

In 2014, we were awarded a Home Office Police Innovation Fund grant to help set up the Network, create this website and commission a significant piece of research to better understand crime in rural areas. The grant amounted to £57,000 spread over two years. Our budget is managed by North Yorkshire Police, who provide financial support and accounting services.

NFU Mutual are also contributing £2,000. £1000 in 2014/15 and £1,000 in 2015/16.

From April 2016, the Network will become fully self-financing through a scheme of membership subscriptions and appropriate commercial sponsorship.
