NRCN seeks research partner to understand domestic abuse in rural areas

The National Rural Crime Network is looking for a research partner to help them understand the barriers to reporting domestic abuse in rural areas, improve reporting, and improve services to victims to help them to cope and recover.

Evidence suggests there is under-reporting of domestic abuse in rural areas. Analysis of police data shows that the number of reported domestic abuse incidents from rural areas is about half that of urban areas, despite no evidence that the occurrence of domestic abuse is any different in rural areas than urban.
