New NRCN Board elected

At the recent AGM of the NRCN, a new board was elected to set the strategic direction of the Network. Tim Passmore, Police and Crime Commissioner for Suffolk, will serve a second term as Chair with Zoe Metcalfe, Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire, joining the board as our new Vice Chair.

The full make up of the NRCN Board is:

  • Chair – Tim Passmore, Suffolk
  • Vice-Chair – Zoe Metcalfe, North Yorkshire

Police and Crime Commissioner members:

  • Devon & Cornwall – Alison Hernandez
  • Essex – Jane Gardner (Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner)
  • Warwickshire – Philip Seccombe

Partner members:

  • Countryside Alliance – Sarah Lee
  • Crimestoppers – Mick Duthie
  • CLA – Sophie Dwerryhouse
  • NFU – Sam Durham
  • Rural Services Network – Graham Biggs

The NRCN Board will also oversee the work of 6 newly created working groups to develop policy, campaigns and best practice in the fight against rural crime.

The 6 portfolios covered by the NRCN working groups are:

  1. National Rural Crime Unit Working Group
  2. Farm and Food Security Working Group
  3. Waste Crime Working Group
  4. Rural Road Safety Working Group
  5. Rural Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Working Group
  6. Communications and Campaigns
